GIVE

To play a part in this positive and powerful change, there are many ways you can be involved, big or small.

The Village Co. are strictly not-for-profit and rely solely on the donations from our wonderful community – your donation will go directly to mothers in need.

Monetary donations: these ensure we can provide for any shortfalls in our physical donations. The administration and running cost of The VIllage Co. Are small yet a vital part of ensuring our organisations functions and can continue the important work we do.

Consider a regular monthly donation: regular donations ensure we can plan for the future. Please consider giving a donation monthly so we can plan new programs to further our impact.

Physical donations: see our shopping list at the bottom of the page for the essential items we require – even simply purchasing an extra item each time you do your regular food shop would add up to be such an important contribution.

VOLUNTEER

We would love to welcome you to our warehouse to complete various tasks that contribute to the bags we provide new mothers. During each session, we spend some time organising donated items, preparing stock, packing bags etc.

These sessions are facilitated by staff and volunteers to ensure you are supported and guided at each step.

If you’re interested in volunteering with us, please begin by registering through our volunteer platform, Volaby. Once your application is approved, you’ll have access to the list of available sessions where you can sign up for the one that suits you.

To join a session, mark yourself as “available” for the specific date, and once the roster is confirmed, you’ll receive a confirmation email and/or text message.

We welcome everyone, and no prior experience is needed. New volunteers will be guided through the warehouse, and team-based packing ensures you’ll always have support. Our warehouse is designed to make packing straightforward and efficient.

Volunteer sessions are also a way to catch up with friend or make new ones over a coffee and some cake.

GUEST SPEAKER

Speaking about the function and philosophies behind giving, altruism and charity, Steph Malan, Co-founder and General Manager of The Village Co. is available to present at corporate functions and conferences.

Steph will shine a light on the benefits behind partnering with a charity, establishing and growing corporate social responsibility and having a positive impact on your community, as well as offering a background about The Village Co., opportunities to join The Village Co. tribe and become a volunteer.

CORPORATE GIVING

Does your work place offer corporate giving in the way of fundraising or giving of time?

Yes? Well we would love to talk to you. We offer guest speaking within your workplace and also corporate volunteer bag packing sessions at our Welland Warehouse, which can also accommodate a team lunch or morning tea.
